My grandfather is amazing

We celebrated Namps' 93rd birthday last
week.

At 87, his right kidney was removed because of cancer.  The surgery was followed by over two year of chemo/radiation for bladder cancer as well.  Six years later, he's cancer free.

In the past few years, Namps been hospitalized with pneumonia three times.  Twice the doctors have prepared the family that the end may be near.

Two days after his birthday, he returned home after a two month hospitalization for pneumonia.  Now on oxygen and using a walker to build his strength, he's very happy to be home with my grandmother.   Nanny and Namps have been married for 68 years; most of which they've lived in the house that he built with a friend.

Namps still has a child-like love of airplanes and desserts (miraculously he still has all of his teeth).  A lifelong Red Sox fan, he's celebrated three World Series Championships (outlasting the 86 year Curse).

Happy 93rd Namps!
